DAY 30!

Sunday I posted after I got home from our girls weekend in Copan and I promised a recap soon but I think this may have to wait yet again.... I promise soon.

Yesterday I accepted the reality that my kids are going to break my heart. Break my heart as in leaving them may quite possibly be the hardest thing I have ever done. I stood next to one of the boys today and he seemed as though he had grown a foot this year. They are getting bigger, smarter, sweeter, more of pain and I love them more every day...... Hoping this Tuesday they choose the latter.

As well tomorrow we are heading to the USA Honduras World Cup Qualifying match in San Pedro. So excited. Although for safety reasons I think I will try and downplay my USA excitement. Seeing as San Pedro has one of the worst homicide rates in the world, I figured I better play it safe.

In regards to this posts title, today is.... DAY 30. I am sorry if I have been quite annoying with my yoga postings but I can say after today I did it. I really did 30 days of straight yoga. For questions on which pod casts I have been using, you may send me an email and I am happy to share. I required that in order for yoga to count for the day I had to practice for at least 20 minutes. This has been on my list of things to do this year... See this old post here. And I did.

Cheers to the last 30 days, to one 4:30 am yoga session before school, to my room being filled with six of us doing it together, to practicing by myself, to practicing at Copan overlooking the valley, to it being the last thing I could have possibly wanted to do that day, to practicing at the D and D Brewery, to Kylie who as also joined me in the 30 day challenge, to feeling stronger, to feeling more relaxed, to feeling healthier and to making it habit I look forward too... Here's to you the past 30 days! Yay! Yay!

I am going to finish up with a bang, Kylie, Matt, Me and perhaps Faye and Lotte will be joining as well for an hour final session today. (although I am not sure this is it. I am not sure if I will be taking a break or not?)

Here are a few pictures that have been taken over the last few days. Enjoy.

Happy tuesday yall.
Warmest Kristina

Letters

I have always been a big fan of written letters, hand written notes, cards, just simple things that tell someone how much they mean to you or wishing them well. So in light of this crazy week at school and our children who are so close to jumping of the roof top with excitement and the teachers who are begging for time to pass quickly I thought I would write a series of letters to things.... has helped me keep sane a bit.

Dear Devil Angel Second Graders,

It is true you are being incredibly rotten and testing all of my patience. I know you are excited for Christmas and I dont blame you. I want to color and watch movies and eat candy all day too. That sounds like so much more fun than learning about pronouns, number patterns and the weather. But bear with me. Forgive me for yelling too much. For not taking time to listen to you and just assume you are again begging to get water or go to the bathroom. I am learning. I am learning patience. Just a few more lessons as you continue to amaze me with how much you learn and I promise I will make the end of this week good. Like cookies, candy, coke, everything your mom wishes you wouldn't have kind of good. Perhaps singing carols. Dancing to Gangnam Style. (yes just for you I will).

With lots of love Miss Kristina

I feel good because of you. I feel stronger, more relaxed and you are helping me deal with my kiddies and more patience so Thank you. I cant wait to see you in Texas as well. My mom is going to meet you and it will be awesome, she will enjoy your benefits too.

Sincerely Kristinas body

Dear Plane Flight Sunday

You are all I think about. Ridiculous I know. You are going to take me home. ....and for that I will be so grateful. Grateful knowing that after you I will be welcomed by my family. Celebrating the season. Celebrating the joys and things that matter most.  Do me a favor and be as glorious as I think you will be.

Sincerely your future passenger.

Dear Time,

As much as I wish you would pass by quickly and you would simply come and go, I know that I need to savor more of you often. I know that I will be wishing for you back in just months time and for that I am sorry. I am sorry I take you for granted so often. That I do not realize how little of you I have and that I should never ever ever wish you to go fast. With that being said thanks for these last few days with Kate and with my kids before the holidays.

Warmest Anxious Teacher

As for all of us, we feel like we are holding on for dear life. Lots of energized children, lots of Christmas song practicing, recording for our performance Friday night. Last night a few of us made our way to Alison's for dinner with the girls, for one last time before the holidays. Aracely and I performed our class song for Alison since she will be missing the show on Friday. I will not forget it. She was so so adorable and knows the words better than me. It was a lot of fun. Tonight we are going for dinner for Kates last evening together, Thomas flies out in the morning and Kate the following.

Only 2 days left after today. Cheers and Warmest to all of you.

20 Wishes.

Stole this idea from here It is the idea that you create twenty wishes for yourself for the next year. I do not like the idea of limiting these things to the first of the year but would rather have it start on any random day. So here it is. (a bit tough to make a list when you are not sure what or where you will be in the next year but nonetheless ....I have created this list to complete in One year from today. December 4, 2012-December 3, 2013. Enjoy.....

Hope this finds you enjoying your Tuesday. Grateful to be in this place. To be surrounded by all that I have, to hold the sweet babies faces on Saturday and knowing that I am going home to my family next Sunday. As well the Scherms are officially moving back to Louisville this coming year. My parents are thrilled to be back in Kentuck (my sister and I as well).
If I could add another number, number 21 it would be to Love well. To love everyone well, to respect others for who they are.
Happy Tuesday to you....
PS: Loving this song... thank you British roommates for sharing Ed Sheeran http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhHyZFiE5fQ

Dance Party. Pizza. Pinata.

Thursday evening pizza party, turned into dance party, piñata cutting, cake. One of the best Thursday evenings to date. Alison and her house of 17 came over for homemade pizza. We decorated, had activities, nail polish, and celebrated for nothing. Cake with sprinkles and a piñata filled with candy. (Piñata Jessie from Toy Story). We transformed our house to host 30 people. All afternoon Faye and Matt prepped homemade pizza. Pizza with cheese, pepperoni, ranch and chicken, bacon and onion, more cheese. We had popcorn, leches (the funky looking Honduran fruit that tastes so good)..

When asked the time, we discovered it was 10:20 pm. The girls all have exams but with a moment of shock wearing off, we all agreed... this was too good of a night to pass up. They stayed for four hours and i have nearly 200 pictures from Dania to show for it. Enjoy.

We are off to Guatemala for the weekend/ visa renew trip/ my birthday! Hope yall have a wonderful weekend. So much to catch up.
